My Fitness Journey

Alright everyone, here is the first fitness related post for this page. Instead of throwing a bunch of tips at you that you could probably find on Pinterest, I am going to tell you about my journey, which culminated in the start of this website and, coincidentally, my crochet “habit.”

Prior to 2009, I was always one of those people who never worried about their weight. I was active enough to not be considered lazy, but I ate what I want and never went to the gym. That all came to a screeching halt in 2009, when I suffered a pretty major back injury during military training. With two torn, and three slipped, discs in my lower back, I wasn’t doing much walking. I gained almost 50 pounds before my surgery and over the course of my recovery. The worst part was the doctors told me that I would most likely never run again and there was a good chance I would be in pain for the rest of my life.

22 Minute Hard Corps



I don’t know about you, but Super Bowl Sunday is one of my favorite days of the year. Football, drinks, and delicious food. As a Beachbody Coach I always urge my challengers to make smart choices when faced with temptation at events that haveĀ fried and fatty foods, but let’s be honest here for a second, it’s Super Bowl Sunday. So, this Sunday I will really be enforcing my 80/20 rule. Clean healthy foods 80% of the time and indulging 20%. In this case, it means not eating SO much of the yummy food, but still letting myself indulge a little bit. Everything in moderation right? I mean seriously, who says no to wings?!
